Prezzo

18831 Biscayne Blvd., Aventura

Many diners of taste recognize the value of a fine restaurant’s chef having ownership interest in the establishment. Chef oversight of menu, quality control, staff, ambiance, etc., helps craft a unified fine dining experience.

So it is at Aventura’s well-known Prezzo Restaurant & Martini Bar. For years a regular meeting place for lunch and dinner, Prezzo nevertheless seemed to burst upon the Miami-Dade dining scene when Chef Kal Abdalla took over the kitchen and part ownership of the restaurant.

Chef Kal has an impeccable pedigree. For 20 years, the amiable, artistic master was chef at Miami Beach landmark The Forge. Having also honed his skills at Miami’s Quayside, Turnberry Isle, Café September and Giorgio’s Grill in Hollywood, he has long been recognized as a creative, consistent, top-notch figure in the chefs’ pantheon of South Florida.

Today, Prezzo exhibits the free hand of the chef in cuisine and atmosphere. A well-appointed dining room is simultaneously stately and lively, a comfortable blend of art and architecture. Outdoor patio seating offers al fresco dining in a plaza atmosphere. Neither as formal as many fine dining restaurants, nor as pricey, Prezzo’s high-caliber kitchen blends with its other aspects to delight regular and first-time diners alike.

Prezzo’s menu reflects Chef Kal’s Mediterranean roots with both Asian and New American flourishes. Among many mouthwatering dishes are the filet mignon and incomparable New York Strip, fresh Maine lobster, sea bass, Prince Edward Island Mussels, Seafood Risotto infused with white truffle oil, terrific roast duck and very popular escargot baked in puff pastry shell with exotic mushrooms and garlic butter.

Prezzo regularly features entertainment, there is frequent dancing, and a well-crafted wine list buoys any occasion.

Quickly becoming the “It” dining destination in Aventura, Prezzo earns its burgeoning wave of publicity and word-of-mouth accolades.
