As
president of wealth management giant U.S. Trust and vice
president and board member of the Miami City Ballet, Frances
Aldrich Sevilla-Sacasa is a powerhouse in the worlds of high
finance and the arts.
In fact, under
the direction of Sevilla-Sacasa, U.S. Trust single-handedly
underwrote the Miami City Ballet two years in a row, including
the troupe’s 2007-08 season.
“Miami City
Ballet is a wonderful asset to our city, offering residents and
visitors the opportunity to attend some truly outstanding
performances,” said Sevilla-Sacasa. “We hope our donation
encourages other companies to increase their financial support
of Miami’s cultural institutions.”
Neither
organization will say exactly how much the company donated,
except that it gave the largest single contribution the ballet
has received in its 22-year history.
“U.S. Trust’s
generous contribution will continue to enable Miami City Ballet
to take our performances to a new level,” said Edward Villella,
the ballet’s founding artistic director. “We are now able to
offer grander, more elaborate productions, more full-length
ballets and expand our repertoire.”
Sevilla-Sacasa
oversees more than 30 offices nationwide that serve clients with
investment assets of more than $3 million. Hispanic Business
magazine recently named her one of its top influential Hispanic
women in business.
She began her
career as a corporate lending officer to Latin America before
joining Bankers Trust’s private bank in 1983. For 29 years, she
climbed the ranks of high-profile companies like Citibank,
Deutsche Bank and Lehman Brothers.
A Miami
native, Sevilla-Sacasa has a B.A from the University of Miami
and an M.B.A. in International Management from the Thunderbird
School of Global Management. She’s fluent in English, Spanish,
French and Portuguese. |
