Five for Ten. Jessica Henson, Brian Guretan , Mariana Lopez, Brigitte Grosjean and Janet Jorgulesco at Pacific Time’s
10 year anniversary party.
WINDS OF CHANGE: As season blows our way I’ve braced myself for another year of blaming everyone, admitting nothing, going everywhere and looking fabulous (at
least trying). The guards have changed at LEVEL with Roman Jones and crew taking over. That leaves the legendary King of Nightlife Mr. Gerry Kelly wandering the night
while he contemplates his next project. (My spies tell me it will be on the Beach and I mean on the beach). As the crowds grow at Nerve so does the number of chiefs which seem to be
causing a problem or two. Rudolph Piper, the very visible front man for Nerve, says “there are too many chefs (not chiefs) and I have all the recipes.” Could it be too hot in the
kitchen? If you’re wondering what happened to Tommy Pooch after his banishment from Nikki Beach look no further than the Astor Hotel (Tuesday nights) and Shore Club
(Sunday nights). Mr. Pooch is a busy man and he has a loyal following that makes any venture a success. The renovations at The Raleigh Hotel have started and soon guests will be
offered sunrise and sunset (stay tuned for an explanation). This season we can anticipate several openings including the opening of Cafeteria (which was supposed to open last
season) and the Ritz-Carlton Hotel (which will be another party stop).
MILESTONE ON LINCOLN: Pacific Time, one of the pioneers of Lincoln Road, celebrated a milestone 10 year anniversary with a black (no tie) party. Fans and long
time customers packed the restaurant enjoying champagne (served with a mini-flute top stuck in the bottles), tastes of the delicious cuisine and danced to a live jazz band. Slides of the
old days along with shots of food were shown on the wall behind the band. Among those seen were Merle & Danny Weiss, writer Lydia Martin (Miami Herald), photographer Adam
Scull, Jessica Hensen & Mariana Lopez, Janet Jorgulesco (“Get Packin”), photographer Tom Grizzle, promoter Mykel Stevens, Rudolph Piper, Lisa Umbel & Tony Leavitt, Tara
Solomon, Nick D’Annunzio, writer John Buchanan, photographer Iran Issa-Khan, David Bick, Dr. Tiller, Doug Williford, singer Deborah Desilets, publicist Brigitte
Grosjean, publicist Susan Scott, Tara Gilani, Marius Koller (It Magazine) and promoter Michael Lance.
BAMBY GOT NERVE: The Score Awards seemed to own the Beach this past weekend with parties and crowds everywhere. This past Monday night Back Door Bamby,
normally housed at Crobar, moved to Nerve for one night only as Crobar was hosting a Score Awards party. The early crowd (midnight) was treated to a series of vintage bimbo girlie
films (a la Russ Meyer). Wherever Bamby goes the boys follow and the crowd was filled with boys of all types (some wearing dresses). Among those seen were Carmel Ophir, Mykel
Stevens, DJ Luis Bode, DJ Ani Phearce, Patricia Prado, Damon Goulet (Ford Models), David Bick, Rudolph Piper, Claudia Verela, Adrian, James Karpook (Flute), Juana, and Nicole
DeWeese.
LUCK OF THE DRAW: Famed author of the Lupe Solano private detective series Carolina
Garcia-Aguilera joins the festivities at the Clinton Pao-Wow, the weekly Wednesday night party at the
Clinton Hotel (10 p.m. – 1 a.m.), as a featured guest. Joining Carolina that night will be the winner of the Lupe Solano look-alike contest. The author
will be signing her 8th book “Luck of the Draw”. The theme for this Wednesday night party will be Las Vegas nights inspired by the
setting of Carolina’s book “Luck of the Draw”.

Two with Nerve. Claudia Verela & Nicole DeWeese at Back Door Bamby’s one night at Nerve.
BEACH BUZZ: This Thursday night October 16th Cooljunkie.com presents DJ Yousef, one of the UK’s hottest new house DJ’s and a resident
at Cream UK, and DJ Craig Demo at Oxygen Lounge in Coconut Grove. Also this Thursday night Global2Night.com and It Magazine brings us the first of a
series of nights celebrating all things “it” with a party dubbed “It Lounge” at Harrison’s (411 Washington Ave.) Expect the model crowd at this party which will be peppered
with photo shoots and fashion shows. If you’re tired of the South Beach clowns then you need to check out some of the world’s funniest clowns at The Moscow State Circus which will
be thrilling audiences for two shows only this Sunday at the Miami Arena. Besides clowns this circus boasts Olympic Gold Medal acrobats, the world famous Wallendas and high
flying daredevils. Remember to send all nightlife info to
Cubbysobe@hotmail.com. Until next week, see you out.
