XLI Plans Look Super

Also at the Miami concert was Billy Joel — who played the role of creepy old guy at a concert for little girls.

The fun is already under way for the super-hyped Super Bowl XLI parties in Miami. Sure the game will be something worth watching, but we have one of those every year. With the last two Super Bowls in Detroit and Jacksonville, and a few others in equally lame cities, a good party hasn’t been seen since way back in XXXVI when Old Orleans (you know, the one with beads, boobs and booze) played host to the craziness. Some of the parties to look out for (even though they may be hard to get into without a serious hookup or a super-expensive ticket) are the fourth annual Pure Rush party at Bricks nightclub downtown, sponsored by Bauer’s, and Shaquille O’Neal’s private soiree, hosted by 790 the Ticket, at the Boost Mobile Villa at Casa Casuarina, both of which take place tonight. Tomorrow night the hot spots appear to be the Maxim party at Sagamore, the Snow Queen Vodka Leather and Laces party with Carmen Electra at Chakra (formerly 1501 Barton G) and Marky Mark Wahlberg’s charity event at Ink. On Saturday, Snoop Dogg hits the stage at Mansion for the Penthouse “Going Deep” party, which is at the very least a great name for a Super Bowl party hosted by a nudie mag. Also on Saturday night: John Travolta will don his long-haired rug and “I swear I’m not gay” smile at a high-end soiree at the Bank of America building downtown; Venus and Serena Williams take over The Fifth for a Sports Illustrated party with musical performance by Wyclef Jean; and Playboy rocks the AAA for what is sure to be a kick-ass party. On Sunday, after Sexy Rexy and the Bears win 23-21, the party hits South Beach as celebs will undoubtedly turn to the club scene for late-night partying.

A WHOLE NEW WORLD

Speaking of the club scene, several new places will debut over Super Bowl weekend. Set, the latest venture from the Opium Group, cracks open its doors for a few private parties (and a Michael Capponi soiree on Friday) that I swore I wouldn’t tell you about until after. Located at 320 Lincoln Road, the club is 1940s Hollywood glam inspired with some modern twists — floor-to-ceiling fireplace, Pucci-fabric sofas, modern glass elevators, and design elements paying homage to Tinseltown’s golden years. Cameo and its upstairs VIP counterpart Vice opens up on Washington (former Crobar spot, but the sign always said Cameo anyway) for XLI extravaganzas that will undoubtedly be a celebrity hot spot over the weekend. Finally, Sin nightclub, located in the former Amika spot on Washington, opens and offers international flare with an erotica theme of “see but don’t touch.” The club teams with Ocean Drive as the official nightclub of the 14th annual beach bash Volleypalooza — which, oh yeah, is also going on and should be fun for all those getting up during the daytime hours who enjoy hot models in little clothing.

LOPEZ GOES BACK TO HER ROOTS

Last Tuesday night, Marc Anthony joined wife Jennifer Lopez and her booty at the Temple House on Euclid Avenue to host a listening party for her new Spanish album, Como Ama Una Mujer (translated: “Diddy gave me herpes.”). Apparently it’s a love album. Sources say 150 VIP and industry types filled the main room of the house to hear Lopez discuss each song and talk about putting together her first Latin album. Afterward, the couple and a few music bigwigs dined at The Forge. And hold up, JLo fans — Jenny from the block and hubby are hosting and performing at the Market America/Ocean Drive “Super XLI: The Party” at Lummus Park in South Beach on Saturday, Feb. 3, at 8 p.m. But it’s invite-only, suckers, so start pulling strings.

SIMPSON TOURS WITH MAYER

Last week, I reported the super-exciting news that Jessica Simpson and John Mayer ate at Nobu together. A guy and a girl eating is front page news, I know. Even better though, was Simpson following Mayer on tour and slumming it in a tour bus around the state of Florida all week. She hit the Miami concert (where she danced and took photos of her lover boy), the Jacksonville show, O-town and Pensacola to hear him rock out for teeny-boppers, who undoubtedly spent more time staring at J. Simp than following along to the music. Also at the Miami concert was Billy Joel — who played the role of creepy old guy at a concert for little girls.

NIKKI ALL GROWN UP

Nikki Beach celebrated its 10-year anniversary last weekend with a blow-out bash on Saturday night (that began with a VIP dinner at Pearl) and a brunch on Sunday. Roughly 2,000 friends joined the fun Saturday night at a party that went on until 5 a.m.

Among the guests: Chris Noth, Star Jones, Alex Rodriguez, Cuba Gooding Jr., Deborah Gibson, Ricky Paull Goldin, Sofia Vergara, Brooke Hogan and many of Miami's VIPs. Gibson took the stage at midnight to perform “Happy Birthday” to Nikki Beach, and a huge tent cake was brought out to owners Jack and Lucia Penrod.

WALK LIKE A DJ

DJ Irie has reached full-on celebrity status well beyond all your favorite Miami clubs, and has teamed with Adidas to re-release an Irie version of the basketball classic, the Adidas EQT B-Ball shoe. The limited edition kicks are Heat colors — black, red and white — with yellow-gold sock liner. The Adidas DJ Irie EQT B-Ball retails for $150 and is available only at the Shoe Gallery in Miami. Irie hosted a launch party for the shoe at Mansion on Friday and pal Kelly Rowland joined in the fun. Since the event was at Mansion, it seems rumors that Irie and the Opium Group had a falling-out are false. The DJ assures me that all is good, and just because he DJs at Suite on Mondays doesn’t mean his weekend plans are changing.

UPCOMING…

Mickey Rourke kicks off his “Dinner and a Mob Movie” weekly party on Monday at Fanucci’s on Lincoln Road. Beginning at 8 p.m., this week’s movie is The Pope of Greenwich Village. A new flick will follow each week. Check out “Movie and a Meatball” (that’s what I’m calling it) every Monday.

SPOTTED…

  • Keith Menin, co-developer with Morgans Hotel Group of Mondrian South Beach, ditching Miami to preview the hotel residences at Sanderson Hotel in London on Thursday alongside music man Craig David.

  • Jon Bon Jovi dining with friends in an upstairs room at Prime 112 on Monday night.

  • Jerry Rice and Deion Sanders partying at the “Secret Society” party at BED.

  • Hines Ward holding it down at Suite on Monday night.
