WHAT TO DO

Boating enthusiasts, weather fanatics and even those who like to hear a good story should sail on over to the Miami International Boat Show from today through Monday, Feb. 19 at the Miami Beach Convention Center and the Miamarina at Bayside. Every day will offer various demonstrations to satisfy newcomers’ and experts’ curiosities alike —learn to tie knots, “jam” to reggae and tropical music, and pick up new fishing techniques. Seminars and events will be held in the Big Game Room, located on the second floor of the Miami Beach Convention Center, 1901 Convention Center Drive, Miami Beach, above Hall B (305-673-7311). Strictly Sail Miami International Boat Show sail-only seminars and events are slated to take place at Miamarina at Bayside, 401 Biscayne Blvd., Miami (305-579-6955). It’s $28 to get in for today’s “Premier Day,” open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday to Sunday, and until 6 p.m. Monday. (Marina locations close at 6 p.m. daily.) Daily admission is $16 for adults ($26 for a two-day pass), $6 for ages 13 to 15 and free for the 12 and younger set. A third Miami Boat Show venue that does not require a pass or an entry ticket is the Sea Isle Marina and Yachting Center, 1635 N. Bayshore Drive, Miami. For more show information, call 786-276-2700.
