Lovin’ Miami

By Kris Conesa

Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson may be reviving their troubled romance.

Love is in the air again — at least for the troubled romance between Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson. It wasn’t very long ago that I saw a pathetic-looking Wilson walking down Collins Avenue alone, as if in dire need of a hug. That’s why I became elated when I heard that Hudson flew into town on Sunday for, get this, dinner and a movie. You go boy! There’s nothing like make-up sex, right?

On Sunday, the couple was spotted going to a flick at the Regal Cinemas South Beach. They were reportedly holding hands. The possibilities abounded. The rumors swirled. Could these two be back in the saddle? Well, I don’t know exactly how it went down, but my experience has shown that it usually involves a lot of groveling, expensive gifts and attempted suicide. OK, I’ve never done the latter, but things seem to be working out for Wilson. I can’t say for sure that their date ended, uh, happily, but I can tell you that the following day they kept the love going.

The pair had dinner at the restaurant that both the New York Times and celeb chef Jamie Oliver think is one of the top 10 places to dine in the country — Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink. The two shared a pizza and fries, and Wilson also had a steak. We hear she even called him “baby.”

Eva-lasting b-day

Eva Longoria’s birthday celebration just doesn’t seem to end. Last Thursday, she and a group of about 12 celebrated her birthday with a dinner at DeVito South Beach. Then, this past Friday night, she and a group of about 10 of her girlfriends kept the festivities going as they joined Michael Bay, Mark Lehmkuhl and Nicola Siervo for dinner at Quattro. After dinner, Longoria made a quick drop by The Florida Room before heading over to Mokaï, where she and her girls did it up, drinking champagne and dancing till after 4 a.m.

A Shore thing

On Wednesday, The Forge’s weekly dinner shindig was a Shore thing — a Pauly Shore thing, that is. Showtime, along with the Empire Events crew, Michael Capponi, Antonio Misuraca and Maxwell Blandford, hosted a screening of Shore’s Natural Born Komics, a sketch comedy movie. Why am I mentioning it? Solely because any time I get an opportunity to mention Steven Bauer’s (Manolo from Scarface) name, I take it without looking back. Bauer, along with Vivica Fox, Charlie Murphy and T-Pain, all starred in the movie. Shore hosted the festivities and DJ Irie provided the sounds.

Boyz to Men, ABC, BBD

Some say the ’90s are long gone, but just two weeks ago at Gerry Kelly’s The Fifth, the whole club was singing “Boyz to Men, ABC, BBD.” That’s because Michael Bivins, Ricky Bell and Ron DeVoe of Bell, Biv, DeVoe hosted the launch party for David Sugarman’s new management company, SugarTime Productions. BTW, that’s a sweet name. Friends and clients helping him celebrate included Toni, Tony, Toné, Fashion Week Miami producer Matt Heien and singer Keith Sweat; the “newest edition” to the landscape was Tyson Beckford look-alike and Miami-based model Bobby Roache.  Surrounded by about 30 screaming star-struck babes all night, it’s no wonder this group didn’t leave the club till after 5 a.m.

Rokin’ Out

Keep things rocking tonight when Rokbar celebrates the official opening of Thursday Night Live. Hosted by Ocean Drive magazine, the party will feature a soundtrack by master of the decks DJ Tommy Ryk. There also will be a special live performance by Awesome New Republic, which, needless to say, is freakin’ awesome.

Aero Dynamics

That badass Biz Martinez, promoter and mastermind behind Sundance, the super-successful Sunday night party at Set, is at it again. He’s rumored to be hooking up with another nightlife impresario, Tony Guerra, who is about to open Aero Bar on 23rd Street, next to Mokaï. The two have a history of working together in the past with pretty amazing results. In fact, Sundance used to be held at Amika, where Guerra was head honcho. We’ll have to wait and see if that’s going down for sure. In the meantime, you can check out Biz and Behrouz during Winter Music Conference at Mokaï on March 26.

Spotted:

Reggae star Shaggy was drinking Russian Standard vodka while watching Nina Sky take over the turntables at the Redroom at Skybar for Shore Thing Sundays.

That’70s Show’s Danny Masterson was also there drinking Patron with a buddy. He was at Tuesday’s GenArt Party, too.

Jennifer Aniston shopping for baby clothes at Baby Gap and Genius Jones on Saturday. Weird. Sounds like a setup for that new show on the E! Network, Pop Fiction.
